Need an Expert to help you identify an invasive species?
|
| So you've identified and reported the invasive species you found. What's the next step? Read a species profile, find a map of the species' distribution, or find out how you can get involved in managing invasive species. |
This page provides access to tools for reporting invasive species sightings in the United States and Canada.

Report Invading Species in Ontario Canada (including Asian long-horned beetle, emerald ash borer, Eurasian watermilfoil, European frog-bit, fanwort, fishhook water flea, flowering rush, invasive carp, northern snakehead, purple loosestrife, round goby, rudd, rusty crayfish, sea lamprey, spiny water flea, and zebra mussel).
Many reporting systems have been developed to allow citizens to map and submit data about species they have seen and identified, using the web. These systems include online forms, email addresses, and toll free telephone numbers. New methods for reporting invasive species sightings will continue to be developed as more and more concerned groups and organizations begin to support the idea that early detection and rapid assessment (ED/RA) is the best approach to managing the invasive species problem.
If you cannot find a reporting form, phone number, or email for the invasive species you want to report, try contacting: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service contacts for invasive species issues; the U.S. Geological Survey's Biological Resources Discipline Invasive Species staff; the National Biological Information Infrastructure's Invasive Species Staff; or the Invasive Species Information Node Manager or Assistant Theme Coordinator.
