This database is hosted in the United States by the Invasive Species Information Node of the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) and in New Zealand by the Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG) of the IUCN Species Survival Commission.
The NBII also hosts Web sites of the Global Invasive Species Information Network (GISIN) and the IABIN Invasives Information Network (I3N); and is developing the National Framework for Early Detection, Rapid Assessment, and Rapid Response (EDRR) to Invasive Species.
Celebrating the Past and Looking to the Future:
The USGS National Biological Information Infrastructure and IUCN Species Survival Commission's Invasive Species Specialist Group are celebrating 5 successful years of partnership. Our collaboration has greatly enhanced the Global Invasive Species Database, which has quadruple the number of invasive species than when it began and is now easier to use, and it has also supported a number of other projects including the Global Invasive Species Information Network .
