ALERTS and Listserves for Invasive Species

So you've sighted an invasive species. What's the next step? Report it to the appropriate authority, find data to monitor it and learn what can be done to control it.

Invasive species alert systems and listservs send verified notifications to subscribers to let them know about invasive species that have been found in their area. Invasive species watch lists and species lists provide researchers, land managers, and conservationists with a checklist of species to look for and guard against. Invasive species on watch lists may have been detected in a neighboring state or county, or perhaps at the source of a river that passes through your area. Early detection of an invasive species where it has already become established can be the most important step towards preventing its spread to new areas.
